The presence of albumin in serum or plasma samples can make it difficult to resolve lower abundance proteins by chromatographic separations or one- or two-dimensional electrophoresis.

The Montage Albumin Deplete Kit provides a fast, convenient, and reproducible method for reducing albumin levels in serum or plasma samples. The kit contains centrifugal affinity columns pre-packed with specialized resin that removes >65% of albumin from typical serum samples.

The protocol is quick and easy. Simply equilibrate the affinity column and add the sample; spin to bind the albumin; wash the column and collect the albumin-depleted eluate; then precipitate the protein.

ZipTip^® Pipette Tips

For concentrating and purifying femtomoles to picomoles of biomolecules
ZipTip is a 10 µL pipette tip with a 0.6 or 0.2 µL bed of chromatography media fixed at its end with no dead volume. It is ideal for concentrating and purifying peptides or proteins in seconds prior to mass spectrometry, HPLC, capillary electrophoresis and other analytical techniques.

The ZipTip pipette tip is simple and easy to use. Place the tip on a single- or multi-channel pipettor, standard 22-gauge blunt-end HPLC needle, or compatible automated liquid handling/sample preparation station. For sample binding, aspirate and dispense through the media several times. Contaminates are then washed away in similar fashion. The concentrated, purified sample is eluted in 1–4 µL of compatible solvent with direct transfer to a mass spectrometer target or vial. For applications requiring smaller elution volumes (e.g., <1 µL), a micro-bed format containing 0.2 µL of media is available.

The ZipTip pipette tip provides a reproducible, high recovery method for concentrating and purifying femtomoles to picomoles of peptides, proteins and oligonucleotides for improved data quality. For simplified analysis, fractionation of complex peptide mixtures by step elution is also possible.

ZipPlate is a 96-well microtiter plate with 300 nanoliters of C₁₈ media immobilized at the bottom of each well. It is the first device of its kind to integrate digestion, desalting, and sample concentration into one device.
