Various cooling options are now available from Ratek where temperature control is required below ambient. The RC1 Dip Cooler provides an immersion coil which can be placed in an existing tank of water. The RC2 has a built in heat exchanger and pump which allows water from an external tank to be cooled and circulated. The RC3 and RC4 are high and low capacity units with built in water baths and also provision for external circulation.

RC1 This unit will cool 8 litres of water in an insulated tank from 30°C to 5°C in approx. 25 mins. For temperature control the Ratek TH5 Thermoregulator should be used and will provide accurate temperature control to ±0.1°c at and below ambient temperatures. The insulated stainless steel flexible line is approximately 1 metre long, with the nickel plated coil supported by an adjustable mounting bracket. Only environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant is used in Ratek coolers. Suitable insulated stainless steel tanks can be manufactured to order.

RC2 The RC2 uses an identical cooling unit to the RC1, but rather than a flexible line and coil, has a built in heat exchanger. When connected to a suitable waterbath via the inlet and outlet fittings, water is pumped through the heat exchanger, cooled then returned to the bath. Temperature control as with the RC1 is provided by an external temperature controller.

RC4 This refrigerated waterbath will hold approximately 12 litres of water and can cool to -10°C. with the use of suitable additives. When used with the Ratek TH5 Thermoregulator, temperature control from 0°c to 99.9°C with a stability of ± 0.05°c is possible, (The TH5 can be factory set with a minimum of -20° if required) . The built in heavy duty recirculating pump has a glandless magnetic head that reduces the possibility of leaking and contamination.
